I'm genuinely shocked by how nice this is

As you all know, I wear niche fragrances almost exclusively. In my 50ish bottle collection, I have 5 designer fragrances- two LVs, a bottle of BDC that I haven't touched in over a year, a 50ml of Tuscan Leather, and a bottle of Terre de Hermes Eau Givree that I am considering selling. I'm not anti-designer, I just find almost all of them boring and uninspired.

Paco Rabanne is at the top of my avoid list, honestly. I absolutely detest the packaging. And in the case of the One Million series, I truly can't stand the scent profile. Brutally sweet, insanely synthetic, and just completely unappealing in every way... however, this stuff is fucking fantastic!

Saffron, nutmeg, black pepper, leather, and oud, with some of the paco rabanne sweetness, but turned WAY down. Just an absolute pleasure. Not natural smelling at all, but there's just something about it that's truly beautiful! If you've never tried it, I highly recommend giving it a shot. Really glad I picked up this sample!

      Really? That's too bad! I absolutely love saffron in most fragrances! Definitely in my top 10 favorite notes, if not top 5

    I see it compared to Halfeti. 👀 Is it really similar? That would be great.

      I don't find them similar at all, personally! I find Halfeti to be more dense, complex, and nuanced. I find this stuff to be spicier, sweeter, and more diffusive, but significantly less refined and nuanced

    This is definitely one of the best from the entire house. I thought Gold Elixir was good too. Very Santal 33-ish. I’m not big on designer scents as much either but I still have a couple handfuls. Maybe 25 out of 136 bottles. I agree with the sentiment though. The designer scents I DO have I LOVE but it’s few and far between.

    We smelled the Rabanne prive line when we were in Paris and were actually impressed— 2 stood out: Burning Leather and After Club.
