Testing and Tea

This evening, after erasing Frito Corn chips (Taipei) from my olfactory system, I sampled two more perfumes from my sample stash.

Himitsu Violets and Durban Jane. Immediately after hitting the strip, I sprayed each to the top of opposite hands.

Himitsu Violets opening is GORGEOUS! Parma Violets laying in a verdant field. Purple and green swirls of scent.

Durban Jane hit the skin with peppery powder and iris.

But as they dry down, your girl may have to go scrub one. Durban Jane is taunting me now with pickled peppers. Gone is the iris. Replaced by peppery dill pickles that parched, dry sandalwood can sometimes resemble. I can handle dry sandalwood but with the pink pepper it’s pulling sour/screechy. I have a habit of resting my hands under my chin when I read. It’s looking like that one will need an oil cleanser scrub. STAT.

Himitsu Violets is drying down deeper and I can smell leathery notes. The violets, as they fade, go ever so slightly “twangy”. Jury’s out.
