Started off so well

Rose Cocktail got off to a promising start on my skin, with a sweet fruity floral cocktail of rose, mandarin, citrus and a soft and pleasant mango. I usually find mango a tricky note at times, but I found it really lovely in this. There’s violet throughout the scent, but not overly noticeable, more as a bright sweetness to the cocktail accord.

It got really really interesting in the heart as the rounded osmanthus, peach and apricot notes made an appearance along with a lovely aromatic basil and mint. At this stage, I thought ‘YES!’. What a gorgeous and unique take on a fruity floral. I honestly thought I’d found something great.

Unfortunately, within 30mins it began to dry down with a quiet vanilla and noticeable vetiver. I’m a fan of Vetiver and I’m a RVH (Reformed Vanilla Hater). But unfortunately it just turned the whole cocktail into an air freshener fruity rose scent on my skin. Pleasant, inoffensive but I was left feeling like I’d lost out on a potential find and instead found a pretty Christmas tree freshener for my car.
