My nose is one to whom this fragrance gives "pickle" scent—dunno where I'm getting the vinegar from, don't ask! But through the entire fragrance journey I am reminded of pickles.

It gets especially strong in the drydown :((( I'd say try this if you're a sandalwood fiend who appreciates all the facets teased out with the cardamom, iris and violet. The papyrus and leather are so well blended that they're almost undetectable to me. I mean, my nose certainly understands that the leather and papyrus notes effectively temper the sandalwood heart of this fragrance narrative (after all, I've smelled pure sandalwood oil and there are stark differences between that and S33), but that is all they do in *my* nose, lol.

      Me too! I was hoping I would not be so unfortunate to have it turn to pickles for me, but it does whether it's on skin *or* paper :(

    This is pure pickle. It’s all my husband experiences with this and kept him away from all sandalwood for a while for fear a pickle would take over. His nose is so sensitive to that combo of aroma chemicals all fragrances we buy have to pass the pickle test. If it hints at pickle, we stay away—all thanks to the trauma he has from Santal 33. 😂
