Santal Blush has always been one of my go to’s. it’s definitely not your standard sandalwood. Right off the bat, you get hit with a dry, warm spice blast with the slight cinnamon and carrot seed. it almost feels a little prickly and drier than you’d expect, but that initial spice edge subsides pretty quickly. As it settles, the sandal wood really starts to take center stage. It turns into this smooth, creamy, airy, slightly floral woodiness with a soft, warmth to it. It’s rich and sophisticated without being heavy or cloying at all. It’s hard to compare to other fragrances, but think Dyptique Tam Dao, but dialed up on the warm spices. Not not at all like the greener Santal 33 (no pickle note here). Definitely versatile enough to wear whenever, but keep in mind, it sits closer to the skin after a couple hours.
