Savant Manhattan Cherry

Savant Manhattan Cherry opens up with a very strong, bitter, woody and smoky whiskey that overpowers every other note on the opening, with a mild sweetness in the background that might be the cherry. It smells like I've poured a bottle of whiskey on myself. Maybe the booziest scent I have ever tried! This lasts for about an hour before anything else really comes through.

The dry down is mostly tart, juicy black cherry juice and spices, with a bit of the smokiness from the opening, warm and sweet tonka, and just a touch of oak wood and vetiver. I prefer it vastly to the very alcoholic opening.

This scent lasts a long time - over 16 hours on skin and through a shower! The projection is quite strong for the first 2 hours, then moderate for another 2 hours after that. Very good performance.

This is definitely an evening party, date, going out kind of scent for someone a little more rambunctious and exciting than me 😅 Great for cold weather, but I don't think it is work appropriate because of how realistically boozy the opening is - you're likely to concern some coworkers and get HR called on you. The dry down is smooth and sophisticated, and is a grown-up, unisex take on cherry. Excellent dry down, but the opening takes it down a bit for me. 8.5/10
