Confused but a fan...

I've had it on my To Do list for a while now to explore more Serge Lutens fragrances - I currently don't own any full bottles, and only had a small travel size of Nuit de Cellophane which is nice enough in a pinch but wouldn't be my first choice most days.

I got this decant (along with Chergui) in a bundle of sample swaps in summer and thought it sounded more autumnal so pulled it out to test last night and liked it enough to pop into my bag for work today.

My impressions of this scent without having looked into it at all, were that it was an enveloping, soft, feminine, pleasant fragrance - I was sitting in a meeting an hour after applying just kind of loving the gently pleasing scent I was being wrapped in. There wasn't any one aspect that was really jumped out - it felt very balanced - and I thought it might be showcasing those more soft, gentle, more typically 'feminine' aspects of wood notes based on the name.

I could maybe detect some darker fruit, maybe something floral or light spices but no one note was shouting, it all came together really well to feel like a slightly autumnal but fresh-from-the-shower warm cozy but gentle scent and I have been really enjoying it so far and it may be added to the 'full bottle potential' list!

So where does the confusion come in, I hear you cry? Well, when I looked up the fragrance online this afternoon to learn more about it, I was completely taken aback with the descriptions of this scent! For example, in reviews and comments I found the following descriptors: 'bold', 'woody', 'dry', 'cloves', 'masculine', 'warm amber', 'apricot-y'... I had to check that I had the same perfume! I've just sprayed it again on the back of my hands and I can now detect peach, which could be osmanthus and what may be an apricot note, but I'm certainly not getting cloves, or dry, bold or masculine wood!

Regardless, I do like this, but I'm half convinced I've got a different perfume! What are your thoughts on it?
