Flirty frag with Singapore heritage history!

Light citrus open over watery lotus and waterlilly, creamy woody base. After sampling through Singapore Memories’ other frags while visiting Singapore earlier this year, this ended up being my favorite. Gorgeous packaging/presentation, and performs well in the high heat and humid climate. Learning some of the history behind Singapore Girl was also fun; it was a popular fragrance in the 1960s (and $$$$ - adjusted for inflation used to run about ~$450USD/30ml!), before a series of unfortunate company mergers caused production to cease. In the 2010s documentation on the original formulation by perfumers Ms. Christina and Dadi was found, and it’s back in production now! The whole line of Singapore Memories revisits vintage fragrance formulations and is now a popular (and much more wallet-friendly) gifting item when visiting.

    This sounds amazing! I’ve been exploring fragrances from Singapore and Korea online and I wish they were easier to find in the states. Do you have any recommendations for others to try?

      Ugh agree, I really appreciate some of Eastern Asia’s countries’ approaches to fragrances (less “beast mode” projection, more intimate/subtle, but usually with great longevity), and wish they were easier to find in the states. Two other brands that I fell in love with while in SIN were Sifr Aromatics and Nefertum Fragrances (NFSG), but sadly neither appear to ship to the US. One brand that IS here that I absolutely adore is Elorea (Korean-American)! I’ve only shopped them online but am dying to make it to one of their storefronts in NYC or LA.

      It’s pretty common in Singapore, as there were a few shops in the city that sold it (also saw it at Changi Airport)! Sadly I don’t think they ship outside of SIN; I’m wishing I had grabbed a few bottles for gifts as the packaging was gorgeous and very affordable, too.
