Death is only the beginning

This is hands down my favourite from this series. It is supposed to refer to the taboo of death and everything that surrounds it. It aims to refer to the festivals of Latin America that honour the dead and often use copal resin and marigolds. To me, it all drowns in the first note of loam.

This is an incredibly linear and straightforward fragrance. It smells of wet robust earth, with the slightest hints of resin and smoke. It's the ultimate earthy perfume, absolutely nothing else is going on there. It might feel a bit lacklustre due to that, but it has a lot of potential.

To me, I love to use it as an extra haunting layer with my other perfumes. Add it to a floral to smell like you spent the day gardening. Mix it with gourmand vanilla, and it's a cupcake that fell in grass and was carelessly stomped into the ground. It makes any regular perfume sound more profound and complex, making it into a new story to be told. In a way, it's what death is - a new perspective, where everything changes.
