Sweet, Synthetic & Shamelessly Feminine

Vain & Naïve opens with a jammy plum accord and bright raspberry sweetness that, to my nose, leans slightly artificial. Together, they create a dense fruity-floral impression that feels unapologetically feminine - almost like scented lip gloss or a candied body mist.

As it develops, a creamy, coconut-like woodiness begins to emerge, giving the fragrance a body-lotion quality that smooths out some of the synthetic edge.

There is a certain innocence to the whole profile - aptly reflected in the name Naïve. It feels youthful and carefree, expressive rather than restrained. I can easily imagine it as the kind of scent girls in my high school would spray between classes, leaving behind a strong, sweet trail.

The performance is massive, with overnight longevity and tenacious projection, suggesting the sort of well-constructed formula and high-quality materials I've come to associate with Nishane. It is clearly designed to be noticed and, whilst entirely not for me, on the right person it would work like a charm.
