Powdery and smooth

The top notes start with a bright powdery flush, enhanced by the citrus resulting in a wakeful, but calming opening, sort of like being brought out of sleep by a breeze from the grove. The almond smooths the citrus as the drydown occurs, letting the florals play a little bit. The powder notes remain consistent down to the heart, where the woodiness peeks in for a little ‘hello,’ quietly supporting the more saccharine aspects of the florals. Sillage is just where I want it, I love getting another whiff of soft, sweet almond-y powder if I turn quickly or stand still for a moment. The wear lasts very well, I’m still smelling it clearly four hours after application. This house is named for the Chateau de Marly, a famed former residence of French royalty, and you definitely feel a little decadent to the point of excess (like a proper French courtier) while wearing this.
