Tempting Triad

Myrrh, iris and vanilla form the backbone of this simple yet intoxicating scent. I think what drew me to Vanyl (besides the obvious iris—I’m obsessed with iris)was the tone and quality of the myrrh.

There is also a whisper of familiarity with Vanyl to one of my all-time favorite woody iris perfumes, l’Oblio. While they don’t smell identical they sort of resonate with each other. Much in the same way, I found the myrrh/iris is Dior’s Bois d’argent similar. I think this profile of scents will always find a home with me.

Vanyl is not a powerhouse. The scent, while resinous and mildly sweet comes across soft on the skin, comforting. It’s a nice perfume to bump up another iris perfume or to wear alone. Likely office safe for many.

Longevity is a typical 5-6 hours with waning projection. The soft composition makes this a nice bedtime scent too.
