This is a brilliant olfactory depiction. I am the queen bee in her natural habitat - surrounded by a hive overbrimming with golden nectar, powdered with floral pollen, and teetering on the edge of being smoked out.
The honey isn't dominant at first - it's more of a raw beeswax scent. It smells slightly medicinal and faintly mentholated. Over time, the honey strengthens, and some light yellow florals and a candied orange blossom emerge, but they never overtake the waxy core.
It brings back memories of 'Medieval Day' at school, where reenactors would show us beeswax-coated armor, herbal medicines, and old-world cosmetics. I imagine stepping into a dimly lit historical workshop, where the air is thick with the scent of melting wax and aged wood. There's a dusty, resinous quality that makes it feel almost timeworn.
I'd adore this as a candle, but its antiquated, waxy nature feels a bit distant from my usual preferences. It has a classical, vintage edge which makes me imagine it more on an older woman than myself, despite really enjoying its nostalgic charm.
