Today's sniffari, on paper, on skin or on my son's skin

**David Jones** * Salvatore Ferragamo Giungle di Seta. Peony, I love Peony. And--pea? Would not have occured to me that was the fresh green note, but I really liked it. Sorry I didn't try this on the skin, but it was first stop. * Salvatore Ferragamo Giardini di Seta--cherry blossom makes me happy, and the rhubarb smelled more like what my Nanna used to grow than the screechy "rhubarb" note you often get.

**Go Vita** Botanic Enve Fluid (not in database yet, natural perfume from South Australia, spiced pear, black tea & Australian sandalwood) -- I am a sucker for both tea and pear, but I would need to layer this with a white floral to fully love it. Going to wear a gardenia scent next time and see. Simple and pretty. My son likes and wore it. 10ml travel sprays only. * Botanic Enve Beach Crush (not in database, salty coconut) -- liked it a lot but I have enough salty vanillas and coconuts already

**Mecca** * Floral Street Sweet Almond Blossom (also not in database) -- I loved this on paper, enough for a skin test, and for a full fifteen minutes afterwards. Then meh. I feel like I always want to like Flower Street perfumes more than I actually do, probably because the bottles are so pretty. * Floral Street Electric Rose--fine. Didn't make it to skin. See above. * Ellis Baker Guava Granita--it is a mystery to me why I like (non-gourmand) banana and guava so much in perfume when I loathe real bananas and guavas, and especially their smell, with a passion. I loved this at first, but the appeal faded. Bat (the original) is still my tropical jungle of choice.

**Aesop Shop** * Tacit--I flipped over this, but I am wondering if it was just scent memory in the end. I used to make an essential oil mix remarkably like that as a teenager. * Erēmia--I do like a fig and tea. Not necessarily more than the Elizabeth Arden one though, and the price difference... And while they are "Australian" it's not a local indie, they are owned by L'Oreal

**Myer** * Sohum Jasmine Green Tea (not in database yet) --see above re EA, but at least they are vegan and actually Australian. While expensive per ml they do come in wee rollerballs, so maybe a treat for a bad day * Elizabeth Arden White Tea and Gingerlily-- okay truth, I loved this so much better than any of the pricier options. I used to have a beloved perfume called Gingerlily when I was young, so nostalgia may factor in

**Terry White** * Yardley Vibrant Peony (not in database yet, pear, apple, peach, peony, rose, jasmine, amber, cedarwood). My son's favourite by far. It's your basic pink fruity floral so of course I loved it. Not sure if I need another basic fruity floral though. Need to sniff the kid to see how it's going. Pear, peach, peony and rose always work for me. * Montblanc Signature Absolu- I asked for to try Signature because a) it's half price at Terry White's b) I think it would be funny to have a signature scent called Signature because apparently I am 12 and c) my beloved vintage Montblanc 220 is one of my three daily driver pens (the other two are a Faber Castell e-motion and a Lamy Aion, thank you for asking.). SA gave me Absolu instead and despite my nose being tired (I did space things out during the day) I kind of adored it. Sweet and smooth and really nice. Joking aside, I could see me using this as my "I don't want to think" reach because let's face it, my bottle of Britney Spears Rocker Femme can't last forever. And this is a bit more grown up. But... So could Vibrant Peony honestly, and that cost less than food court lunch.

Nose is very tired and I have given myself a headache, but it was fun. Will need to go back and try the Ferragamo perfumes and Signature Absolu on skin, especially as the Signature Absolu while half price is in budget for a Christmas present from Mum, and she likes to give me perfume. Want to try floralling up the Fluid, too. And actually try Signature.
