Going on a first date to an art museum

We've chatted a little about perfume, but I'm still not sure where her tastes lie - or, more importantly, what she really doesn't enjoy smelling. To me, B-621 has a timeless masculine freshness that's difficult to dislike once the soily oakmoss of the opening settles.

We're firmly in fougère territory, but an overdose of cashmeran and the addition of sandalwood to the usual moss, lavender and coumarin make for something entirely novel. Masculine, but never overly so, there's a metallic sweetness here that brings a gentle softness to a profile that, to my nose, can otherwise feel a little too butch and dated.

The performance is excellent on my skin, too - never loud, but dense and rich, with a persistent, airy presence that lasts well beyond the 8-hour mark.

      Haha, well, I gave her a couple sprays of Angélique Noire (I bought the decant along with me as it had come up in conversation a few days before) and she was gobsmacked with how good it smelt, so we know her taste is on point 😆
