I hereby vow to try and make a dent in my sampling during Sample September.

So I’m still trying to figure out if I love this or hate it. My initial thoughts are.. this is Tuberose who dabbles in BDSM. It’s sweet and bubble gummy, yet dark and alluring. The unique and sweet, spicy floral opening caught my attention and I thought I was going to love this… but after a few minutes I’m getting a rubber or Cellulose Acetate scent, yet I can’t stop whiffing my wrist. Maybe the white flowers indoles mixing with the balsam and ambers? As it settles further I’m getting ylang, vanilla and amber and musks. Yet, even though it’s moved from intoxicating white to softer yellow and ambers, it remains still narcotic.

Going to need to spend time with this one. However, I think this is quickly moving towards a dislike. There is something about the drydown that reminds me of the scented stones in ashtrays that an old aunt had in her house… for the record, she was not into BDSM

      I had never heard of Datura until I googled it.. it’s called Thorn Apple here but it’s deemed as a very toxic weed and it does not smell good at all lol

    This one sounds like something I'd actually really like 🧐 Also, the name instantly reminded me of Datura Noir (by Serge Lutens) which I have and love but the notes are very different

      I haven’t whiffed that one. I didn’t realise that Datura was the same as the Thorn Apple weed (that’s what we call it here), which is quite a stinky flower.. but maybe it’s a different genus of flower in USA with a better scent 🙈
