Shout out to @jbreezyyny for the recommendation. I echo his words in saying there’s an element of Another 13’s ethereal, catch-me-if-you-can musky ambroxan in this one. At the same time, though, there are some peppery, citrusy woods and an aquatic salinity that change things up. There’s much more going on here than in Another 13, but sometimes, perfected simplicity is hard to beat. I feel like I could do without this marine element - it’s rarely a smell I enjoy, with AdG Profumo being a prime example. But alas, it deserves a full-day wear

    Thanks for the shout out and I'm glad you got to try it!! I also rarely enjoy marine notes, but this is one of the few exceptions! I hope the full wear goes well- curious to see if it comes off as sweet for you as it does for me. On a related note, I actually sold and shipped out my bottle of Another 13 this morning! 😂 I think I'm becoming sensitive to certain amberwoods, but I'm not sure. I love ambroxan in some stuff, but it just doesn't work on my skin with Another 13 or Lafayette Street, sadly.

      After owning Chanel Allure in the past and having a decant of Xerjoff Uden, Lafayette Street never hit the spot for me. Uden annihilates it when it comes to that scent profile. Shame about Another 13! My ex wore it (things ended amicably), so it's a scent I have fond memories of, but feels very much like a "cool girl" scent, despite enjoying how it smells on some dudes in the gym. Will be sure to share my thoughts on Blue Hinoki after the full wear - will be later this week I'm sure! But I must say, that 'ocean oil spill' feeling of the opening has moved into something more like salty wood - it's no longer grating on me 😊

      Glad the drydown is working better for you! 😁 I haven't tried Uden, but I really want to! In April I tried Lafayette Street on skin in NY and absolutely loved it, but every time I try it, I enjoy it less and less, now to the point where I basically never reach for it, and when I do, I regret that I did. I think I might end up listing it on Mercari in the next few days once I figure out how much is left in this bottle! 😂 Another 13 is weird for me. I LOVE the first hour of it and enjoy the occasional whiffs in the air, but the smell on skin is the same kind of acrid ambroxan note I get in Lafayette 😔 I can totally get your "cool girl" image of Another 13, though! I think I'd like it more on a girlfriend than on myself

      Another 13 smelt wonderful on her - especially the next morning, rolling over and sniffing her hair was the best wake up call, and certainly put me in the mood for...breakfast... 😆😈 Uden is definitely one to get your nose into - there's a bit of coffee and rum in there which albeit not overt, darkens the vibe, but it'll remind you on Lafayette I'm sure. Stays pleasant the whole way through though and is definitely one of the more versatile Xerjoffs.
