      Whaaat I’m honored you value my opinions🥹 You definitely have to try this one out. I can’t pinpoint what exactly about this I love so much, but it just checks all my boxes. Something about it is nostalgic. Reminds me of a luxury hotel soap or lotion.

      You have great taste man! I love how cohesive your rotation is - lots of variety within a similarly soft, luxurious, 'shades of white' sort of profile. I liked BdA and loved MG, but haven't tried either extrait. Will be heading to Byredo after work for a sniff.

      Alto Astral is gaining a lot of popularity and is my favorite edp by far. Bibliotheque is also a sleeper. Maybe not something I’d wear more than once or twice but nonetheless very well put together. Rose of No Man’s Land as well.

   Sampled 3 of the Absolus today and thought to let you know my thoughts! Bal d'Afrique: fresh, citrusy lotion - very warm and silky. Bit of a green grassy vibe freshening things up. It's giving lactonic apricots - the sweetness feels nectarous, but stops just before it feels too sweet. Lovely. Gypsy Water: sweet incense that's burning with a clean, foresty smoke. This one feels quite nostalgic. The sweetness turns full-on candied which is not for me, and feels a bit jarring against the incense. Mojave Ghost: now this one's a love. Slightly floral, slightly fruity, sexy skin goodness. I love ambrette and it's been done so well here. I get a parma violets sort of vibe but feels neither candied like GW, nor viscous like BdA, in other words, the ideal amount. Happy to have tried BdA & GW, but definitely need more of MG.

      We seem to have very similar opinions on fragrances so far. You happen to put them into words far better than I can hahaha. All in all, couldn’t have said it better myself, and I’m glad you enjoy MG. GW Absolu is just okay for me, although the EDP is quite nice. Currently, Bal d’Afrique is my biggest what-if. On paper, it’s exactly as you describe. However on my skin, all there is, is that nectarous accord you described, which then turns sour and stale after a couple hours as I’m left with only vetiver and black amber. I figure this current batch that I have is poorly blended or matured. My previous bottle was not like this, so I keep wearing it in hopes that something will change. I think I’ll leave the bottle alone for a few weeks and come back to it.

      We do indeed! Speaking of which, Acne Studios should be arriving today! Oh man, that's such a shame about BdA. It seems too recent to have undergone any drastic reformulations, but I absolutely trust your sense of smell. I did find that it faded rather quickly - around the 5 hour point it was very hazy. What's super interesting is that MG was still going strong. I decided not to scrub that section of my forearm in the shower and soon after went to sleep. Went for a run at 7am this morning and all of a sudden this sweet musky smell drifted up to my nose. Upon sniffing my forearm it was clearly coming from MG. Unreal longevity! Must've been around 16 hours since I sprayed it twice. It reminded me a lot of Nasomatto Nudiflorum at that point - I don't know whether you've tried that one? The openings and mid are entirely different, but both seem to land in a sweet, sultry, warm skin-like place. The Nasomatto definitely runs sweeter and more invasive, but still, there's some crossover there.
