I have never tried love iris notes. Velvet iris is spicy. The pink pepper and buchu a that peppery note to the powdery iris.

Iris in a velvet smoking jacket.
This opens as a dry, cold, smokey and slightly harsh Iris that leans very masculine to my unintentionally socially conditioned nose. As it starts to warm on my skin it really blooms and becomes a

Trying this out today. It’s coming off as earthy, dusty, rooty and papery. A sweetness peeps out here and there. Overall it’s a lovely scent by one of my favorite perfumers, Dominique Ropion.
