Ambushed with disappointment

Well I love the reinvention of this, or rather the improved version: Attrape-Coeur (heart-catcher/stealer). Ambush someone by catching their heart— that’s Cupid’s gig? Or a succubus..?

I’ll ask my client who identifies as a “trickster faerie daemon” which is spelled weird to be a panini pressed piece of pleaseantry because I really like them and it was a joke lol.

The smell:

Top: immeditate burst of INSANELY DENSE natural oakmoss. Then a Guerlinade puff and the violet/amber/oakmoss accord takes center stage, first featuring amber after the oakmoss burns off and transitions to the heart

Heart (ventricle 1): let’s talk about creamy. “Creamy” notes/accorss as an idea, much like milk notes, are fucking gross and I will not allow that LANGUAGE IN MY HOUSE! GO TO YOUR ROOM! However, unlike L’Feu d’Issey, Dior Addict (OG, and Yvresse (all creamy in different ways) Guet Apens is not plasticky, is not play-dough-y, and is tempered by the oakmoss that is ubiquitous throughout the fragrance— poking out when the cream rises to the top (????????)

Heart: amber swirl, violet breeze, and a splattering of oakmoss define this fragrance. In true fashion, with the Guerlinade, the “special sauce” if you will, of the house. What is special about Guet Apens is how easily you can pick out accords but still have it smell abstract and blended as one accord. It shifts and morphs and then returns and then dries down further like any Guerlain. The powderiness of the Iris is highlighted, a note within the sauce that was likely amplified to enrich the fragrance.

It’s also a sauce…so it’s creamy…ew I hate—

Base: “‘you have arrived at downtown Oakmoss Station located near Oak Park’ that forrest is overrun with moss, ugh what a nasty sight but nice smell!” That’s really all I have to say it kinda peters out here and becomes an overly-mossy base with a soft amber/iris/sandalwood(yummy) pillow to lay on. It is indeed creamy…which aside from being uncanny and bizarre, this is aNOTHER example of a fragrance that blends two classes together.

Chyporiental. My main issue with this is the projection (bad) and longevity (who cares if the projection is skin scent).
