Doing an A•B test (second half)

I genuinely couldn't recall what my objection to the Gypsy Water Absolu was, so I borrowed back the absolu (the decants were bought at the same time), and I'm gonna put this one on my left wrist.

This all started with an offhand comment to @greenolive (you should follow them!) After doing a side-by-side comparison, to my nose the absolu has a citrus accord that's much sharper and projects more than the regular. After enlisting my fiancé and getting his opinion, he says the absolu gives sweet and rose water, versus more lemon in the plain Gypsy Water. I actually get a smoky vanilla and citrus from the plain, with more pronounced citrus from the absolu. It's personal preference, but I still very much prefer the 'ordinary' one over the absolu; the absolu does have more definition and projection, though.
