Harlem Nights and Danse Sauvage

More Chris Collins samples. Harlem Nights is really lovely and complex. I get almost a cherry almond note from this, though not quite. It's lightly sweet, boozy from the rum, leathery, and woody-spicy. It is super smooth, addictive and hard to describe. The patchouli in this is very nice - deep and not stinky. I feel like this is the spicier, woodier, more complex niche version of Lost Cherry. That might be a crazy take but my brain is totally making that association. This one has a lot more of the leathery saffron than Danse Sauvage. Ugh, it's so good. It's got a lot of heavier notes but is also really clean smelling. The creamy, powdery orris, the saffron, clean musks, and the nutmeg make a really nice and unique combination.

Danse Sauvage is also complex and very smoothly blended. It has a honeyed sweetness and smells a bit like old books. I feel like I'm in a historic library with breathtakingly ornate architecture. I also get lots of plum, which is rich, dark and juicy, along with the booziness of the cognac, a deep purple rose, and a lovely, wearable oud. This one is fruitier, darker, and a bit gothic, almost. I feel like a sexy vampire 😂 Absolutely in love with this one. Might be my new go to for cold weather.

What a fun pair of scents! Honestly wowed, and these are great to wear next to each other and compare since they both have notes of alcohol, saffron, wood and spices. I feel like I'm gonna need both of these... 💸
