Jazmin Yucatan is an unusual, atmospheric jasmine.
I don't think I like the opening very much. I get unsweetened apple juice, corn tortilla, and jasmine. It's not horrible, just an odd combination. Luckily, the apple juice and tortilla smell go away within 30 minutes.
On the flip side, the mid and dry down is really nice. It smells like a rainforest right after a downpour, when the water vapor is still in the air. The fragrance of jasmine blossoms wafts through the fog, and there is also the slightest hint of warm, sweet, spicy smoke from the cloves and copal. I thought it would be heavier because of those two notes, but neither are overdone - they simply add warmth and depth to the humid jungle.
I must note that the performance is very interesting - for me, it does not project much at all, but stays on skin and clothes for a crazy amount of time. The last time I wore it, I was still getting whiffs off of skin after 14 hours and smelled it in the car the next day.
A very unusual creation. I am still not sure if this is a love or a like, but I have a feeling it will grow on me. I do enjoy it, but definitely have to be in the mood for it.
