Le LaboMyrrhe 553.926 ratingsI decided not to wear anything this morning as I was planning to go out to do some testing this afternoon. I made a special trip to the Le Labo store to get my nose on the city exclusives, since I didn't really want to spend $15 each on a sample I might not like.
Well, let's just say I am underwhelmed. Though most of them smelled pleasant and were scents I would definitely wear, I didn't think any were worth the exorbitant price. My two favorite exclusives were Myrrhe 55 and Cedrat 37, though I did also enjoy Tubereuse 40, Limette 37, and Bigarade 18. Shiu 25 was quite nice, and ended up being a sweet, slightly camphorous, very light incense stick type scent.
From the regular collection, Bergamote 22 was the stand out, and I liked Violette 30, Lavande 31, Neroli 36, Jasmin 17, Lys 41, and The Matcha 26. Sadly I couldn't smell Another 13 at all on the test strip, but I will have to try it on skin another time when I have the space (hopefully I'm not anosmic to it). I will also have to get Bergamote 22 on skin sometime. I think it was better than Citron 28 and Limette 37.
It might just be my skin chemistry, but everything was quite light, though the lasting power was good. I guess I prefer heavier hitters in general so maybe this house isn't for me! The scents were all very natural and likeable - I will give them that. These are all scents for people that are effortlessly cool, so they didn't really match my vibe.
I guess my wallet is safe for now! 😅
