      I wanted to love Soie Malaquais (I love the bottle design). It’s a beautiful, well made perfume and the chestnut note in the opening is wonderful… but it reads distinctly and specifically like Silvikrin Hairspray on my skin. And once my brain made that connection I couldn’t unsmell it. I danced when I was child and the memories of being suffocated in a cloud of hairspray are ones I would rather leave well in the past. Not that SM is suffocating, it’s just that the scent profile is so similar to this hairspray.. too similar. Not for me, but is very well loved and could be for you.

      thanks, totally hear you on the undetatchable memories associated with popular scents. I’m going to try and get my nose on this at the DVN store in LA this week, I can’t go much longer without smelling this line.
