The first Guerlain I’ve ever tried. The neroli might be a bit too strong for me. I’m always iffy on white florals. It does smell very realistic and high quality, though, I’ll give it that.

I do like the magnolia in Wulong Cha X, but that isn’t quite as strong as the neroli here. I also love the orange blossom in Blue Talisman Extrait, but that is much smoother to me.

The vanilla base is pretty nice. I’m interested to try more of their stuff since they are so famous for vanilla.

    It’s funny that you find the neroli too strong as I find it very muted in Outrenoir, in comparison to the likes of Nerolia Vetiver. I found this a very gentle fragrance, beautiful blended but a crazy price for how gentle and subtle it is.

      I don’t think it’s a particularly loud scent. It’s more that my nose is really sensitive to white florals so that note just overpowers all the others. It’s sharp to my nose.

    I don’t know if it gets to 30 degrees or 30 plus where you are, but, I am also not a huge white flower fan. I find when it is super hot, the tea and the earthy notes get amplified. Maybe save your sample to try on a very hot day. 🤷🏻‍♀️. The heat converted me on this one and I love it now

      It does get that hot here. I find Blue Talisman Extrait to be great in the heat, which is heavy on the orange blossom. I think it’s just the neroli that is too much for me. I’ve felt that way about many others that I’ve tried that feature it. Jasmine is also often too intense for me. Reflection Man is like a bomb to my nose.

      We can’t love everything and thankfully so or we would be overwhelmed with choices (and broke). I love blue talisman but prefer the OG — think the extrait is a touch more masculine.

      31C today and I’m giving it another try. I’m not getting as heavy on the neroli today, and I’m quite enjoying it now. It is so smooth how the florals, tea, and vanilla all come together.

      I highly recommend Tea on a Cruise by Testament London, Dem by Regalien and Tea Tonique Extrait by Miller Harris (not the OG)

    No one does vanilla better than Guerlain. They’re truly the best house out there, IMO.

      I have a bunch to try. I’m excited. Vanilla isn’t usually my favorite note, but I enjoy trying stuff. I’ll send whether isn’t for me to my brother that loves vanilla, so nothing will go to waste.

      Depending on how much you want to spend, their L’Art Et La Matière collection is so good. Angelique Noire is a unique green vanilla. SDV is a beautiful, spicy vanilla. And if you are looking for some of the best smelling things ever- Vanille Planifolia and Tonka Sarrapia are two of their extraits. Crushingly expensive, but so beautiful.
