To me, this perfume smells nothing like other Perfect flankers. This is its own beast entirely, not related to anything else Marc Jacobs I smelled before.
Perfect Absolute is juicy, syrupy almost sweet fruit, with the hint of jasmine and amber. The smell is quite intense, sultry, albeit linear. What you smell for the first minute is what you get through the entirety of the lifespan of this scent. This is a fig forward petfume, but it's not green at all.
Speaking of lifespan, it's quite decent, lasts for half of a day at least with some moderate sillage that fades as time passes. To me, this truly is a perfect everyday fragrance that is quite dense, but neither suffocating nor offensive. It's nothing groundbreaking or provocative, but it's a strong, confident perfume in its own right.
I do agree that it can be quite boring to perfume connoisseurs, but it's not an unpleasant scent and is a swell workhorse of a perfume you can reach for when you don't want to decide which scent to wear. It's definitely worth a sniff on a chance you see a tester at a department store. This isn't a legendary or era-defining perfume, so as soon as the novelty wears off, I hope I'd see this particular bottle on a deep discount.
