In store, this was described to me as a woody rose

And now - despite looking at the notes which boast lemon, centifolia rose, ambrox super, and patchouli - I smell a gorgeous smoky, woody rose. I typically hate patchouli, but can’t find or recognize it here. I am a person who has worn probably over 75 unique, ambroxen-based scents this year - I can recognize it anywhere - and I can’t find it here. The patchouli in this scent, if that is truly what I’m smelling, is different than any other patchouli I’ve ever come in contact with. It’s very smoky, spicy, maybe a little like crushed star anise that has been toasted in the oven, or toasted, crushed cumin seeds? But there is no funk, nothing that could be perceived as body odor, which I know is sometimes a complaint with cumin in scent. The scent is woody, but not sandalwoody - maybe smoldering cedarwood?

It is so unique, so pretty, so sexy. It’s highly unisex - this is the very definition of a unisex scent to me - it is an intriguing scent that would feel totally in place on a man or a woman.

… I feel like I’m eventually going to need a fullsized bottle of this.
