Perhaps today's SOTD inspired what I sampled

Both were sprayed on skin at 11am. It's coming up to 4pm now, and I just showered. Perhaps five hours isn't enough for a conclusive review, but they both dried down quickly, and I didn't notice much change after the initial burst settled.

Tobacco Chocolat: Well, the opening smells divine. A crumbly chunk of 80% cacao chocolate with a tart orange filling. Sadly, this lasts no longer than five minutes before losing its steam, reminding me more of an earthy, cured honey. The tobacco is reminiscent of Guerlain Tobacco Honey, but less rich, less sweet, and altogether much less impressive. That said, considering how much lighter it wears than Tobacco Honey, it would arguably be more wearable. I'm hovering around a 9 for the opening, but blink and you miss it. The drydown is nice, but nothing to shout about. 7.25/10

Tuscan Leather: A dark, well-worn leather jacket, tinged with a brief burst of berry tartness and a sprinkle of dry herbs. I can't say I smell raspberry, but the subtle sweetness brings to mind shades of deep red and dusky pink. The leather smells clean rather than animalic, but dusty rather than sleek. It's much more of a raw, leathery experience than Ombre Leather, whose warm, ambery facets I do prefer. The longer it dries, the rougher it gets - bitter, smoky, and undoubtedly masculine. I'm not a leather guy at the best of times, although I do really enjoy Ombre Leather and Ex Nihilo's Chandigarh Express. I don't hate this, but it feels a little too abrasive and, dare I say, somewhat chemical-leaning for my tastes. 6/10
