A tragedy to be gone from market

I think YSL was ahead of its time with Velours. It debuted long before iris had a popular resurgence and was phased out when the “clean” aesthetic was gaining momentum. So it came and went before it even hit my radar.

As I was sampling iris perfumes (2020) I picked up a decant and stored it away after a sniff. As iris completely captured me, I circled back to it, fell in love and went online to buy it. Discontinued. What!?

Velours takes a deep, earthy iris and sets it on top of warm ambery accords and a smoky black tea. It makes for an addicting perfume and one many iris lovers would…well? Love.
