Breaking out the dense orris

Tomorrow is supposed to a chilly rainy day here~Perfect for one of these three gorgeous orris perfumes.

Celine Black Tie is the lightest of these three and easily worn all four seasons. Rooty orris with soft vanilla. Loved by many for good reason.

YSL Velours takes a similar dense, “chewy”, “doughy” orris note and couples it with a delicious warm ambery base. I discovered this perfume after it was discontinued 🫠 Was my white whale for a year.

Ormonde Jayne Vanille des Afriques, also with the rooty, buttery orris (the note really is similar amongst these three) but adds extra helping of vanilla and dries down more powdery.

After my less-than-stellar sample test session, I’m switching gears and looking forward to wearing one of these beauties tomorrow.

      It’s sweet in the way vanilla beans are sweet. Guerlain vanilla-like sweet. So, not cakey or sugary. It won’t leave a toothache.

    You will smell divine no matter the pick, but Black Tie would be my choice.
