Possibly my favourite incense 🏛

Certainly when it comes to the warm, spicy, Baroque style, anyway! LAVS is unbeaten if it’s a cathedral we seek.

Zefiro is such a gorgeous scent. Piney green herbs soaked in white wine → warm, celebratory spices softened with iris → lacquered pews darkened by centuries of devotion → honeyed incense swinging from a thurible. Rather than evoking a Christian church, Zefiro transports me to the grandeur of an ancient Roman temple.

Wonderful performance, too, especially for an incense perfume unaided by dense smoke or heavy sweetness. Never loud, but incredibly persistent.

      I found it a little abrasive and overly masculine at first, but my impression couldn't be more different now. It's such a warm, inviting scent. I'd love it if my body constantly radiated a diluted version of this.

      That's a good pitch! Especially since I don't mind harsh openings, if the drydown is worth it. Though, I haven't fallen in love with an incense fragrance so far, there is still a craving that keeps me looking for the right one. Zafiro definitely goes to the top of the list!

      Not sure about Medieval! Zefiro feels too opulent for such austere times, but he should absolutely give it a shot.

      Do let me know if you catch a whiff! Many people (including myself when I first tried it) tend to think it's quite masculine, but I've long since eaten my words. There's a sweet, powdery softness hidden amonst the spices, woods and incense that would bloom fantastically on a woman's skin.
