XerjoffXJ 1861 Zefiro4.180 ratingsThere is a sinister feeling to it, the spicy opening makes it special to me, and surely “ewww” inducing fot many people thanks to the spicy power of cardamom / cinnamon — for me is normal, I grow with it, but passed that phase there is one of the best sandalwoods waiting for you. I like (a lot) scents that hides a beauty behind spices.

Opening is super cardamom and cinnamon forward, if you like that you will get a paradise of sandalwood for 90% of the scent, the dry down is king in this one. Love it

One of the best from Xerjoff. I also thought it was a touch abrasive and hyper-masc when I first tried it, but don't get that at all now. A beautifully baroque, warmly spiced honey incense amidst dark lacquered woods. Feels like walking into a ancient temple. It's a love.

Absolutely brilliant way to describe it. Took me a while to understand it, but I am fully in love with the dry down, is very close to a incense attar I own and that’s huge as I always wanted that scent in a profume, was a random discovery.

Always such a great feeling finding a scent that absolutely nails the brief, especially when it's coincidental. I do love Christian church incense, but the way Zefiro dodges this while still feeling somewhat pious is fantastic
