I feel like I have an opposite trajectory to a lot of fragrance heads, who get more niche and expensive designer as they go, or recently get into Middle Eastern brands. More and more I am reaching for easy wearing inexpensive Australian fragrances, whether they are vegan dupes or the kind of indie natural perfume you buy at Meet the Maker.

Sometimes people go from designer to niche/luxe. But sometimes they go the indie route. It's not always cheaper, but often you can find a lot more experimental types of scents. Then there are frugalistas (and frugalistos) who figure out they can be thrifty and still find some great stuff.

Ooh! It’s a little shameful, but I know vanishingly little about our cheapies, aside from MCoBeauty, honestly. 👀👀 Out here doing god’s work.

Honestly I rate Designer Brands once they have macerated. They are so much better than they used to be, and have some pretty unexpected limited editions (like Portfino '97!). McCo Beauty is pretty much all of my limited makeup collection, not that I wear makeup often. Sometimes I wonder why I ever spend more when I like their $10-20 vegan dupes so much.

Oh, their make up dupes are next level. I swear by their tubing mascara — it’s the only one I’ve found that doesn’t smudge to full raccoon eyes within 5 minutes of summer humidity. 😅 I haven’t checked out DB’s scents in a hot minute — I’ll have to give them another try!

I might try the tubing mascara! I don't wear makeup often, and one of the reasons I don't is that I have hooded eyes and whatever I do I end up with mascara above my eyes. I did look seriously at their Showbag! As for perfumes, I particularly like their limited editions, I should review more

There’s very little available in my country.. limited options at counters, no perfume boutique shops or indie shops… I’m just happy for whatever I can get my nose on lol!
