My truest love of all my loves (for now)

I loved this at first sniff and bought it immediately—an often costly mistake that I do not advise! However, unlucky some of my shorter-lived infatuations, I love Alto Astral more with every wear.

Firstly, let me say that I would never recommend blind buying this, as I’ve seen descriptions of the way it smells that are all over the place—clearly it’s highly dependent on the individual.

For me, it starts out and stays a deliciously airy, light coconut. Not creamy and sunscreeny, but ever-so-slightly green and fresh, almost sparkly. There’s a super clean jasmine I can pick out—no indole whatsoever, which I tend to be sensitive to—and then this whispery suggestion of incense smoke running through it as well. Those are the only three notes I can pick out individually, and the coconut water is by far the most prominent—but it’s somehow magical. It’s joyful, sunny, and pretty without being simple, juvenile, or girly.

The performance is outstanding for me—I get a strong but intimate scent bubble that lasts 8+ hours. If I spray my clothes, they smell amazing for a week or more.

I did add Boy Smells Woodphoria(2025) as a similar fragrance, because the coconut note has the same vibe. Both are Jérôme Epinette creations, so it makes sense. Woodphoria is woodier (as you might assume) and a teensy bit smokier—perhaps leaning a bit more traditionally masculine. I own and love them both.
