An interesting scent.

To my nose it opens with a gentle Vetiver that’s sweet and earthy as it’s accompanied by a lightly fruity and nutty vanilla and some powdery pepper.

And then comes the plastic. I’m not sure if this is a masterpiece created to capture the PVC sheathed copper electrical cables of a household or if this was a failed attempt at a gourmand Vetiver and ELDO then stuck a name to it that fit with the accidental scent they created?

The reason I ponder this is because, to my nose, this plastic accord is present in the hearts of most of the ELDOs that I’ve tested so far, almost as if it’s an intentional or unintentional aspect of their scent DNA, present in a specific synthetic musk or wood that they favour. Who knows.

Once the plastic in the heart settles, Fat Electrician becomes a warm but delightful skin scent of resinous woods, a whisper of vetiver and a sweet creaminess akin to clean skin.. that’s been massaged with a tiny dot of olive oil to keep it moist. This dry down is very nice, quite sensual in a recently clean skin that’s warm and damp to the touch after some exertion from a bit of afternoon delight.. but 3 hrs in and it’s very, very, verrry faint.

    I think I'm nose blind to whatever that weird scent is lol I can't smell it at all. Curious what other Eldo scents you smell it in. I was anticipating the burnt wire smell and all, was kind of excited for the weirdness but instead it's what my husband wears now 😅 mixes well on him, he gets loads of compliments

      I don’t get any burnt wire or ‘static’ notes, just plastic but specifically electric cable plastic. I got it in Remarkable People (which is a scent I really enjoyed) and Ghost in a Shell. But not in Above the Waves.

      Ghost in the shell doesn't surprise me, I literally can't remember remarkable people and I apparently had no comment on it when I wore it either so must have been a meh. Ghost in the shell I'm still pretty meh on, it's okay

    I feel like the plastic smell is intentional. Thankfully, it doesn't last too long. I find Fat Electrician pleasant on others (like my husband), but not one I'd wear personally.

      I have access to very little here. The Guerlain counter is tiny and doesn’t stock L’Art line. There are any boutique or indie perfume shops. So I rely alot on ordering samples or decants to get my nose on niche perfumes. This set I ordered directly from the ELDO website.

      Funny you mention, while I get access to a lot of the brands. Seems most of them don’t like to sell discovery sets to Switzerland…wanted to order for next month Francesca Bianchi’ one, but seems I need go go for decants. Will be paying for 7 decants almost the same as the 21 sample set 😅. Kinda wanted to buy an Acqua di Parma or two but here we go. Slow and steady tends to work better. Really hope I end up liking some of them FB

    Really interesting scent indeed. The gourmand made me think of whipped cream with a touch of vetiver. The plastic smell reminds me of childhood when I used to take out the cd from my Playstation. Fun times

    Fat Electrian is one of my all time favorites. It’s a little weird and I do kinda get the burnt computer fan smell but the creamy vanilla and nuttiness make it. And it lasts forever on me! I think it might be a top 10 for me or close to it.

      It’s so odd because o would describe myself as having a sensitive nose (you’re not going to hear me complaining about Jo Malone perfumes longevity), but this was so so quiet on my skin. It’s a really lovely dry down but so faint.

      It’s crazy how different skin chemistry can be. I also have a pretty deep moisture routine and drink nothing but water (and coffee in the morning) so I’m not sure if that helps? I also feel like my skin naturally clings to perfumes for some reason because even the notorious poor performers last 6+ hours on me. I worse this one a couple weeks ago and it lasted at least 10-12 hours until I went to be and I could still smell it kicking.
