But you absolutely, unequivocally have to adore patchouli - all its musty, earthy, dank-basement facets included. Psychédélique leaves no prisoners and is about as marmite as a fragrance gets. Nobody could be on the fence about this one: it's either an absolute love or a grimace-inducing no. I've been on both sides of that coin, but never anywhere in between. If you can get past the opening's dark, green mustiness, you'll be rewarded with one of the most gorgeous ambers I've ever come across. Resinous, sultry and vanillic, with a smooth, timeless charm. Sexier than sexy - but you've been warned.

      This is the ultimate patchouli to me - I haven't found one that better expresses how gorgeous the note can be. Every facet is present at different stages. The opening brings a campharous "mintiness", the mid, a thick, musty earthiness, and the base, a scrumptiously rich, deeply-ambered chocolate cake.

      Sounds divine! If you haven't already, give Patchouly a try, that one is also a "you really have to LOVE patchouli for this" kinda scent.

      Oooh yes! That's been on my list for quite some time now. Haven't spotted a Profumum Roma seller around here though, and there are no samples online, so may have to wait until I'm back in the UK.

    You get dank-basement with this? On my skin I get the chocolate cakey patchouli... Either way it's a love for me.

      I get a large dose of both. Dank basement to begin, ambery cake to finish. Me too, one of my very rare >9/10s.

      It's been a while but I'll give it a shot when it gets cooler and I'll try to focus on it. Normally my dank-basement patch is LV's Orage.

      Psychédélique is waaay mustier for me than Orage, which felt much more mass-appealing and approachable. I feel they nailed the "storm" brief with that one - it really smells like the air just before heavy rainfall. Reminded me of Jo Malone Oud & Bergamot too strangely.
