This is a good approach. There’s lots of perfumes that I love and they still don’t get FB status .. it has to be a head over heels, eye roll to the back of my head love…Or else my collection would get out of hand. Exceptions are made for cheapies where the price is much the same that I’d pay for a sample/decantvanyway.

Absolutely. Or at least just settle with 5ml in a slightly higher quality opaque glass decant. I find using these "posh" decants gives a similar feeling of having the perfume in my collection without needing the full bottle. For these kind of 'I think I love it, but still not sure' perfumes, 5ml seems to lasts months anyway.

In complete agreement, I’m very happy with 7.5- 10ml travels and if not available, then a good decant.
