Orpheon EDT

Orpheon EDT opens with a lovely blast of refreshing citrus and the familiar, slightly minty juniper, which is less prominent than in the EDP. The yuzu here is absolutely fantastic - sweet, citric, bitter, and a little fizzy - a genius complement to the rest of the notes. The green notes are subtle (nothing like the grassy greenness of Philosykos) and contribute to the natural feeling of the scent. The magnolia and rose (which is similar to the dewy rose in Eau Rose) are light and airy compared to the sweeter, creamier jasmine in the EDP.

It retains the brightness of the citrus throughout the drydown. It is just lovely mixed with the faint florals, Cedar wood and light musks. This is a perfectly fresh, clean, crisp scent that would be amazing for spring and summer. It is fun, lively and very energizing. A very easy wear and unisex as well.

The performance is just as good as the EDP. Having worn them side by side, I find no difference in the projection or lasting power. If anything, the citrus in the EDT projects more. I get moderate projection for a few hours and it lasts on my skin 8+ hours, while I get whiffs the whole time.

Comparison to the EDP: The EDP, one of my favorites, is much warmer, woodier, a touch spicy, and powdery soft. The juniper in the opening is stronger, too. It is definitely better blended and gives a cozier, more reserved and elegant vibe, in contrast to the energetic, bright EDT. They are somehow so similar and so different, but both are masterpieces. I would choose the EDP for cooler weather and the EDT for warmer weather.

Having both would not be redundant at all. In fact, I'm extremely tempted! If you love the Orpheon DNA, both are definitely worth checking out.
