A single spray is all it takes

Despite what many people experience, Santal Calling is one of the most potent fragrances I’ve tried. I’m unsure whether it’s the formula itself or simply my own sensitivity to the blend, but it remains strong on my skin for 10+ hours, never letting me forget that it’s there. I’ve asked friends to smell it, and some can barely detect it, so I do believe the musks Ex Nihilo are using here are simply imperceptible - or at least far fainter - to others than they are to me.

Even when wearing it outdoors, I never go above three sprays, and tend to avoid it entirely when the weather gets much hotter than 25°C. As I’m just chilling at home tonight, one spray is plenty. The atomisers on Ex Nihilo bottles are top of the range, too - a pressurised cloud of the finest mist.

It’s a beautiful, beautiful smell, and one of my exceedingly rare 9.5/10s. A sharp, nutmeggy opening settles into the most creamy, delicate, iris-infused sandalwood, resting upon a silky-smooth base of vanillic musks. It’s bright yet warm, modern yet timeless, sweet yet in an entirely natural way.

I loved her upon first sniff, and I’ve never tired of smelling her.
