After a fun, but unsuccessful day sampling, I wanted something I know I love for the evening. People say whiskey, but Baraonda is more of a cognac to me - warm and fruity, rather than dry and peaty. Nowadays, it seems my nose goes straight to the drydown of aged oak barrels and musky roses, with only a hint of sticky, boozy dried fruits. Down to the last 1.5ml of my second 5ml decant - it's one I'll always keep around.

    Man, this description is really tempting me! I love the way this stuff smells on paper, but haven't tried it on skin yet, as I always felt like it might make me smell like an alcoholic 😂 Going sampling tomorrow and will definitely give this a hand spray!

      Haha na, not at all, it's a very soft, delicate scent and one of the very few my colleagues have commented positively about (Taiwanese conservatism usually garners no compliments 😆) My first few times trying it, the "whiskey" was really pronounced, but I think my nose was just acclimatising to a new scent. Do let me know your thoughts! I'm watching a band perform and getting lovely wafts of oaky sweetness and sticky, rosey fruits, it's lovely.

      Hahaha Japanese conservatism definitely sounds the same! Shockingly, the fragrances that have gotten the best reactions were Fuego Futuro, Jubilation 40, and The Noir 29, which today had the most positive feedback I've ever gotten, by a LONG shot lol. Enjoy the concert and the wear!! 😁

      Thé Noir gets a love of love out here too - they love a bit of Le Labo. Excited for September when we can start sampling some of the city exclusives.
