Cognac after midnight

I hear a lot of whiskey talk around this composition but it reminds me of late nights into the wee hours of the morning with my once cherished black bottle of Remy VSOP. I cant pull all the notes out but dark liquor, vanilla, patchouli, florals, wooden barrels and underlying spice. Possibly labdanum for longevity. Insomnia is kicking in and ill be up another hour or 2 before i can fall asleep. At least I'll smell amazing.

    The caramelized, dried fruits-like sweetness of Baraonda has always reminded me more of cognac than whiskey too. I saw a GC-MS of it, and it pulled out both whiskey lactones and green cognac oil. I'm sure they're both responsible for the booziness, but it's certainly more sweet and fruity than dry and peaty to me.
