CreedIris Debonair4.311 ratingsI tend to like iris fragrances so no real surprise that my initial take on this is positive. I was able to get a sample from my local department store and had purchased a decant so I should be able to get a good feel for this one after a few wears. Early thought is this will be a nice fall scent.

 I have a sample too, and my feelings are mixed. I do like the scent, but there’s almost no Iris in it, and Iris was the thing that drew me to it. For me, it didn’t even have the powdery texture that I usually associate with good Iris fragrances. But I do like the scent, just felt like the name didn’t reflect the experience.

I agree it’s not powdery. It’s like the iris is there but in the background to me (if that even makes sense- first real wear so I’m still processing it). The lavender and woody notes stand out much more than the iris but it is there. It’s a more interesting scent that I honestly expected. I expected a Dior Homme copy but they went in a different direction.

The first time I smelled this I was so excited. Maybe the first Creed that I’d be willing to spend money on. Iris is my favorite note. I love the powdery, makeup bag texture of a good Iris fragrance
