So confused by this one!!

Finally tried this iconic fragrance and wow, I can’t tell if I hate it or love it? At first it’s almost great but there’s a backdrop of something that smells like body odor… maybe the patchouli? As it dries down it becomes less BO-y and more vanilla-y and chocolate-y? The earthy quality lingers and I must say it’s a really intriguing mix of notes and it evokes a feeling of nostalgia, perhaps because I’ve smelled this on people before when I was a child. This perfume launched when I was born so I’m sure it was floating around more prominently in my childhood. I want to love this perfume and I almost do but there’s something a little too “dirty” in it for me. I’d enjoy a sample to try it a few more times in different contexts though.

    OG Angel is definitely an acquired taste (I personally really like it. Discovered it in the late 90s/early 00s when it was all the rage). You might like the EDT version better, or even the new flanker Angel Blush - it's a very toned down version, and definitely less earthy/dirty.

      I just tried Angel Blush - love it! (Edit: okay I don’t LOVE it but it’s nice. Def missing what makes Angel so special though. Not sure it even has any patchouli and smells a little too sweet for me.)

      Glad you like it. I definitely get the patchouli but much much softer and safer than in the OG.

    A thing I’ve noticed with some Mugler fragrances is sometimes they take a bit to grow on you. Alien I was the same way with I liked it but I also didn’t. That was when I was very first really getting into fragrances. I put my decant up and went back to it 6 months later and I love it now 🤷‍♀️ Don’t know what changed, maybe my nose just evolved but most Muglers weren’t loves at first sniff

      I can totally imagine it growing on me. My nose has definitely evolved over the past year that I’ve been super immersed in my perfume hobby. And in that same vein, there are perfumes I bought thinking I’d love them forever and now I hardly reach for them because they seem too boring/basic/etc.
