Sauvage Extrait by DiorDiorSauvage Extrait4.29 ratings

...the opening put me right off. But the dry down is not bad at all. Looking at the Sauvage line, I think this has the most in common with Eau Forte...which is the most polarizing one.

Addendum:

F@#$ing Ambrocenide. This is the dominant note and final act. Strong, screechy but projects and lasts like a monster. Virtually identical to the dry down of Creed's Iris Debonair.

Won't be buying a bottle, too many sharp edges.

    Honestly I loved the extrait, but I feel like it shouldn’t have been a flanker of sauvage. It just feels so different than the rest

      You know...I thought that too for a while, and then 2 - 3 hours late in the dry down, I get it. Aspects of almost all the Sauvage line are in there like a ghost. It's weird. It's challenging and accessible at the same time...just have to get past the peppery smoky opening. That all being said, there was a missed opportunity to start a new line for Dior. They're about due.

    Haven’t tried it, but a friend did and told me that it’s a lavender nuke. Thoughts?

      I'm sure lavender is in there. I have TF Lavender Extreme. That's a lavender nuke. This is not that. What I will say, at hour 6 of the dry down is that it's pretty screechy with the synthetics. A weird comparison that I am making as I am currently testing it, but the new Creed Iris Debonair has the exact same screechy dry down. I think it's some kind of synthetic super-amber, likely Ambrocenide, mixed with some Ambroxan. That Ambrocenide is the dominant note of the dry down...same as creeds iris debonair.
