Vanilla 🌷💝

I have come to the realisation that I don’t hate vanilla and I have this app to thank for that. Do you have any vanilla perfume recommendations that don’t smell like cupcakes and such? I like a perfume that sits close to the skin and I’m a big fan of florals. Also, I recently tried Kylie Jenner’s Cosmic and I enjoyed it

    Also prefer the "no cupcakes" vanilla. I like a grownup, spicy vanilla, such as Eau Duelle or Shalimar L'Essence :)

    Cuir Béluga is a very soft sueded floral vanilla, not very sweet. It's the vanilla that changed my mind about 'hating' vanillas. Bare Sueded Vanilla is a great cheap alternative, it's sweeter but not cake sweet. Sel-Vanille and Olympéa are salty floral vanillas, lightly sweet. Vanille Riviera is so light and fresh. Black Tie is a soft, fresh, & slightly powdery floral vanilla. Babycat is spicy & incense. Vanille & Ani are fresh & lightly citrus

      I also used to think all vanillas were gourmand/heavy or linear. I'm so happy to share some I wish I'd known about earlier. I'll share some more that aren't gourmands, but may be more adventurous. Eau Duelle Eau de Parfum and Eau Duelle Eau de Toilette are fresh woody vanillas, the EDT/EDP smell quite different, so I'd check out reviews. Queening is fresh and coconut powdery. Lune FĂ©line is spicy and a little herbaceous. Daring Dragon is a little citrusy, fresh floral vanilla & sandalwood. Vanille d'Iris or its dupe Dua Softness of Vanilla and Iris are soft floral iris vanilla. The whole YSL Libre line is so good if you like lavender/orange blossom

    Eau Duelle is a nice green vanilla. I also recommend any of the Guerlain (they really do have the best vanilla) or Celine vanillas. Ani and Ani X are really nice too.

      You're welcome. If you would like to know more about the Celine vanillas in particular (Zouzou, Black Tie, Dans Paris) I have written reviews on all of them. Hope you can find something you enjoy!

    I have a few tried & true non-sweet vanillas. Probably my favourite is Memoirs Of A Trespasser — very dry, a little woody, and clearly vanilla but without so much as a hint of sugar. My second rec (if you still like a little sweetness to your vanilla, but strictly no gourmand) would be Salty Wood — again, a little woody & a little salty with a faintly sweet vanilla as the star. If you’re looking for vanilla that’s sweet without being cake, I’d highly recommend checking out Queen of Silk — it’s got sweetness to it, but it’s definitely not cake. This is probably the closest thus far to Cosmic, from the notes. If you’re not against a dabble with mandarin, I’d probably also point you towards Clementine Dream, which is a very juicy mandarin with more sugary vanilla notes.

    I am not the most Vanilla person ngl but Absolute Aphrodisiac technically counts I guess if you want some animalic touch technically Althair line counts as well and lastly Babycat (while writing these I realised I probably need recommendations as well lol)
