Eternal Vanille feels much darker and more polished than the name initially made me expect. The vanilla is definitely there, but it doesn’t come across as fluffy, sugary, or overly dessert-like. It feels dense and smooth, with a slightly fruity darkness in the opening and this warm cacao-like richness underneath that keeps pulling it deeper. As it settles, the sweetness becomes softer and warmer. The vanilla starts to feel almost resinous, rich, ambered, and wrapped in woods with just enough depth to keep it from turning into a simple gourmand. What I love most is the mood of it. It feels intimate, elegant, and comforting, but still has a little mystery to it. The kind of vanilla I picture with dim lighting, warm gold, soft fabric, and something sweet lingering in the air. Not a bright vanilla. Not a cupcake vanilla. More like vanilla dressed for the evening.
