What do you do when you put a perfume you were really feeling when you wake up and a minute before leaving your house you regret it? Do you still take your time to wash it off or just live with your decision? I personally just live with my past self decision 😂 but I'm curious about other ppl

Depends? If I was testing it and really hate it, I do my best to get rid of it, which isn't so easy at times. Or, I try to find something that will layer over it that matches the general scent profile. If it's just kind of meh but not offensive I'll give it a chance.

This is about what I do too. I’ll only try to scrub it off if it’s absolutely vile or makes me physically ill. I also do the layering trick! Generally I test new things in the evening when I have nowhere else to be, so I don’t have to worry about being stinky in public

Scrubbing correctly sometimes takes so long 😢 and sometimes it won't even go away at all. Being home to try new fragrances I a great idea!

If it's one I usually like but I'm just not feeling it, I live with it. If I'm testing it and I hate it, it's getting scrubbed off.

I never ever test perfume when I have plans on the day of. I was burned badly when I randomly sprayed a perfume from a tester when shopping and had to cut my day short, rushing home to scrub it off. So now it's 1-2 sprays from a sample/decant on a wrist on a day when I'm home. If I want more of that, a full-on wear out on a day, I have some short-lasting errands. Then, if successful, it means I can easily wear that perfume anytime for a full day. I'm super sensitive to some aromachemicals, so I have to be very cautious around this stuff.

Metaphorically burned, thankfully. It just gave me a few days of migraine, which only few scents do. It was Another 13, and I believe I'm super sensitive to more than one ingredient in there because I never smelled anything more offensive. I've had to wash a hoodie I was wearing that day several times to take the stank off, as the sleeve touched my wrist with this thing on. Diabolical concoction that.

Honestly? I would wash neck too. And I did it few times. One time i went to the social gathering with perfume (Le Labo Another13) on and noticed many people were looking tense/uncomfortable (in japan, people are quite sensitive to fragrances, unfortunately). So I had to go to the bathroom and clean myself up.. no issues after that

The only two I can think of i had to scrub off was King Blue and Alexandria II. King Blue on my skin never lost that opening fecal note I gave it about 45 minutes then had to shower. Alexandria II on the other hand smells great upon initial application but about 4-5 hours in it just seemed to be getting stronger and suffocating me. I was at work at the time so washed it off as best as I could at the time. I now really watch the sprays with that one two at the most and only on the back of my neck nothing on the front of my body where it can beat my nose up to badly.

Realistically, with the regular amounts of sprays you do, how many years would it take you to actually get to finish your fragrance collection? I would calculate myself on five years as my own
