Do you match Perfume to your personality, or does your perfume bring out different personalities?

    I love to wear perfume with a bit of an "edge," it reminds me that no matter how you try, you can't please absolutely everyone. And that people often respect imperfect authenticity more than insincere perfection.

      I love that. I think it's why I prefer scents that combine contrasting notes, or something that adds a little bit of bitterness, dirt, smoke or darkness to otherwise sweet/cutesy frags. Vetiver is amazing for this in particular, I find.

    I'm not so sure it's my personality per se, but I do choose what to wear very much depending on mood & circumstance

      So many things affect my choice of what to wear tbh, (but I'm always intrigued to hear the way others make their choices): the temperature, planned activities, how thirsty or hungry or hot and bothered I am at the time... even my outfit (I have a tomato red dress that always makes me want to wear tomato leaf fragrances to the point that wearing something that feels "green" or cool would feel clashy, even if that better suited the occasion, weather or my mood!)

    I tend to match what I’m wearing with my mood and the weather. My collection is just what I love, which doesn’t always match what I think of as my personality. I’m not a pink girly type but I adore Delina so sometimes it’s Delina.

      Same. I'm quite a chaotic, grunge-loving, softly feral gal most of the time, but so few houses are aiming for that desirable demographic for some strange reason 🤔 😅 and I'm not about to miss out on Angélique Noire, SDV, Santal Greenery or some elegant, elevated gem that evokes calm, chic togetherness until they do!

      Same! I let the feels and environment pick the scent. I do feel a little strange when I get it wrong but… what can you do?

    If I matched fragrances to my personality, I would ALWAYS wear dark, smoky, heavy scents 😅 I'm not sure my mood influences my decision either 🤷🏼‍♀️

    I’m going to flip this… if I matched my personality to my perfumes, I would be diagnosed with a complex multiple personality disorder .. James McEvoy in Split level 🤣🤣🤣

      I think my issue is that Perfume houses aren't usually looking to evoke 'ADHD feral chaos' in their scents! But that's OK because I like to cosplay as other characters!
