Which "oud wood" version would you choose?

I love the Tom Ford Oud Wood DNA, but I find it overpriced, especially considering the performance. I currently have Thameen Carved Oud, which I enjoy, but it's a bit too creamy and understated for me. I tested Nishane Kredo, and it was fantastic! A bit more funky, and WAY more my style. Before ordering a 100ml of it, I wanted to explore the category a bit more!

I haven't tested anything from Fragrance Du Bois, as they aren't easy to get in Tokyo. I want to know people's thoughts on Oud Noir Intense before I try to chase down a sample!

Ideally, the perfect thing would be something in this direction, but with more of an authentic, eastern oud. If you have any other fragrances in this category that you'd recommend, please let me know in rhe comments! 😁✨️

    I love whiffing a funky Oud, and I like the scent on a man.. but I prefer to wear a more toned down ‘western’ Oud like Halfeti, Intense Oud or Ombre Nomade

      Understandable! Oud can be a tricky one. It's my absolute favorite note, but so many of mine are very limited in versatility 😂 I also love Ombre Nomade by the way! Fruit/oud combos are what I tend to gravitate towards. Almost bought a bottle of Burgundy Oud this afternoon, actually! 😂

    Ours are so tricky (for me), I vote to go with the one you know you like. You can always explore more later :)

      No doubt! It's my favorite note and when I'm not wearing it, I'm usually craving it, so I'm trying to round out the collection to have an "oud for every situation" 😂

      My favorite note is hay, but I’m not sure there’s a hay for every occasion…hard to imagine a date-night hay lol

      It's not a primarily hay fragrance, but Fuego Futuro definitely has a hay note and I think it's an amazing date night fragrance!!
